Video: Herbert C. Jackson Stuck In Ice Near Algonac

A video, posted on YouTube by Chosen Won, shows the Canadian (CCG) and U.S. Coast Guard (USCG) working to free the bulk carrier Herbert C. Jackson.

The vessel was one of the five that became stuck in the icy waters of the St. Clair River last weekend.

The ice-breaking assistance was provided by the CCG ship Griffon.

Having been successfully freed, Herbert C. Jackson continued southward to the area of Detroit.

Herbert C. Jackson (IMO number 5148417 and MMSI 366904930) was built in 1959. The 204-metre vessel has a deadweight of 24,536-DWT.
