M.L. Mosta , a passenger ferry, capsized and subsequently sank while sailing on the Padma River northwest of Dhaka, Bangladesh.
At the time 140 passengers were aboard the vessel as it was crossing the river when it was struck amidships by a cargo ship. The ferry then quickly capsized and sank in roughly 6 meters of water.
According to the reports, 66 bodies have been recovered - 43 bodies were pulled on Sunday and 23 were found inside the ferry when it was recovered.
One of the survivors commented that a large number of the passengers that were on deck at the time of the collision were rescued, but a lot of people were trapped inside when the M.L. Mosta sank. Authorities have initiated an investigation of the incident.
