No More German Cruise Vessels

After getting decision to switch to the Maltese marine flag the biggest German cruise vessel's owners have drawn criticism.
Deilmann has taken the decision that Deutschland, that is Germany's best known cruise vessel, is going to switch to the Maltese flag after a month. It is the last German-owned cruise vessel that is still sailing under the German flag.
Hans-Joachim Otto, who is German government's maritime co-ordinator supposed that he was worried by the announcement.
Lloyd's List stated that the decision had increased 'outrage' in German shipping circles.
The cruise company owners have defended their decision, stating their goal was to save money and invest it in product development.
German trade union Verdi wasn't also satisfied that the registry switch and has threatened protests, seeing the move as planned to save on crew members' costs, a reason which Deilmann has denied.
