Iranian Navy defends vessel under attack

Iranian Navy defended a Singaporean merchant vessel under pirate attack in the Red Sea. The Singaporean vessel sent a signal for help while leaving the straits of Bab-el-Mandeb and when it was simultaneously surrounded by 12 gang boats.
The Iranian fleet went to help the Singaporean vessel quickly and stopped the pirates from damaging the ship.
The pirates left the area immediately.
Iranian Navy has sent 20 flotillas to high seas, guarding 1500 oil tankers and ships and blocked 130 piracy through armed conflicts.
Iranian Navy has managed to stop 25 armed attacks by gangs since March 2012 and put in jail the pirates in 2 cases after tactical actions of "Raad 1, 2" (Thunder 1,2).
