Wärtsilä signs a service agreement with the cruise company - Princess Cruise Lines for long-term service of 7 cruise liners powered by Wärtsilä forty six general-rail engines.
The broad scale of services comprise technical management and logistics maintenance, spare parts for planned engine support, workshop services, an on-board technical consultant in the time when major overhauls, annual training of the engine place crew, continuous condition observing of equipment and reporting, and bi-monthly technical attends to every cruise liner.
"This contract between Wartsila and Princess Cruise Lines optimises the support schedules for these 7 cruise vessels, and secures the client with technical expertise at a fixed price. In special, Wärtsilä's deep know-how in the area of general-rail technology was a key factor in the reward of this agreement," states Andy Edwards, who is the Vice President, Strategic Accounts.
Wärtsilä is a leader of the market in common-rail technology for electronically-managed low-speed sea engines. This technology secures a high degree of versatility in engine settings to provide lower fuel consumption, very low minimum running speeds, smokeless operation at all running speeds, and outstanding control of exhaust emissions. Moreover, the integrated surplus of the engines assures high trustiness.
