A number of vessels at UAE's Dubai Creek were on fire on Monday afternoon local time, sending huge clouds of black smoke into the air. The massive fire broke out near Dubai's Al Maktoum Bridge.
According to local media report, one of the vessels at the dock took fire and the flames spread to the other vessels in the area nearby, including the Dubai Courts, the floating bridge and the Al Karama residential district.
In a statement for a local media the spokesperson of Dubai Civil Defense said that fire fighting teams from five fire stations have been dispatched to the scene to take control over the blaze.
"The operations room received a call about the fire at 3:04pm. As of now, there are two boats on fire, but we can't say anything about the damages as yet," he said.
Up to the moment there is no information for casualties or injured people during the incident and it is not clear what started the blaze.
