On Wednesday night, October 7, fire erupted in cargo hold or holds of a small Indonesian freighter Intan Nusantara, docked in Palabuhan Sukabangun, Ketapang, western Kalimantan, Indonesia.

Vessel was loaded with consumer goods and groceries, such as noodles, cooking oil, soap, etc.

Local firefighters responded to the scene with two vehicles. As of Thursday morning (Oct 8) fire was still burning the goods carried in the ship. By noon time firefighting teams were able to extinguish the blaze.

No reports of injuries or pollution released. Reports state damage was extensive to the cargo, mostly from the water poured in ship’s holds.
