Lufthansa is Cancelling Route from Munich to Singapore and Jakarta

By Cruise

Lufthansa which is one of the biggest airline operators is cancelling its Munich-Singapore destinations with the introduction of the 2012/13 winter program. As a result, the onward flight from Singapore to Jakarta, Indonesia, is not going to be operated anymore. Singapore and Jakarta are presently served 5 times a week from Munich with an Airbus A340-300. Lufthansa is going to continue to manage a daily A380 service from Frankfurt to Singapore, but is not going to fly to Jakarta anymore. The last flight from Munich to Singapore and onward to Jakarta is going to depart on Oct 14, 2012.
“We are pity that in future Lufthansa is not going to secure a connection among Munich and these 2 capital cities in Asia. Given the recent 2-runway system at our Munich base, we are going soon to reach our limits in terms of expanding our flight scheme,” told in a statement Thomas Klühr who is a member of the Lufthansa German Airlines Board, Munich & Direct Services. In future, Lufthansa is only going to be able to achieve traffic growth where there is still sufficient infrastructure.
Over the next days, customers who are already reserved flights from Munich to Singapore are going to be rebooked on a Lufthansa flight that is departing from Frankfurt, at no additional charge, and are going to be informed accordingly. People, departing for Jakarta are going to be rebooked on connecting Star Alliance flights.
