On Monday October 26, 2015, at 9.58 p.m. local time the fishing vessel Admiral Shabalin, which was docked at Muelle Grande in Las Palmas (Spain) suffered a fire on board.

Fire fighting teams reached the site seven minutes later, and the crew was evacuated. The fire erupted in the area of the fish processing workshop and cargo hold and was extinguished under assistance of the "Miguel de Cervantes" of Salvamento Maritimo.
The trawler had called at Las Palmas on Saturday (Oct 24) for routine maintenance at a yard, scheduled to start on Oct 27, crew change and taking on supplies.
It is understood, that the fire erupted in fish processing workshop or in cargo hold.
Fire said to be extinguished, the extent of damages is unknown.
