The 124 meter long, 5862 dwt tanker Nadezhda ran aground off the shore Sakhalin Island, Russia.
The tanker was en route to port of Korsakov from Vanino with 400 tons of diesel fuel when it was caught in a severe storm.
The tanker was blown ashore on to the rocks. The hull was damaged allowing water ingress into the engine room. No reports of injuries or pollution released.
Reports state a tug was dispatched to assist in salvaging the Nadezhda.
