MSC Flaminia is going west to search a port of call

By Accidents

Still no permission for the burned container ship MSC Flaminia to go in a sheltered zone or a subsequent emergency port. Reederei NSB, which is the owner of the vessel and the salvage company both are still remaining in contact with all littoral states to obtain this permission.
At the same time, the container ship MSC Flaminia and its accompanying group of tug boats have taken a position over 400 n.m. west of the entry of The English Channel to evade bad weather conditions and the expected swell. Since the coming days are designed to bring deteriorating weather, the group has set a northwesterly course to a regionz where less swell is expected. Its speed is 4.5 knots.
A considerable impairment of the stability of MSC Flaminia due the expected wave height can't be excluded and is observed apprehensively.
In the meantime, Reederei NSB company has declared general average for the ship.
