The Mediterranean Shipping Company (MSC) announced on Tuesday (Mar 8) an upgrade of its South Africa service with the introduction of a weekly direct call at Hazira in addition to Nhava and Mundra.

The India - South Africa service port rotation is as follows:

Salalah - Jebel AliBin Qasim - Mundra - Nhava Sheva - HAZIRA - Colombo - Port Louis - Durban - Coega - Salalah

The South Africa service, operates with six vessels with vessel capacity of up to 5,400 TEU. The first vessel to call Hazira will be MSC Valencia IZ 611R. ETA- 9th April 2016.

Via Durban:
- South Africa: Cape Town, East London, Walvis Bay
- Mozambique: Beira , Maputo, Nacala
- West Africa: Lome, Douala, Lobito, Namibe, Libreville

Via Port Louis:
- Indian Ocean ports: Tamatave, Diego Suarez, Majunga, Longoni, Pointe des Galets
- Australia and New Zealand

Via Colombo:
- Chittagong and Far East ports
- Djibouti, King Abdullah and Aden,Port Sudan (via KAP)
- USA West Coast & Mexico
