13 missing after Collision between a fishing boat and a cargo ship

A Japanese fishing vessel with 22 crew members collided with a cargo vessel in the Pacific Ocean off eastern Japan early on Monday and thirteen of the crew members are still missing, The Japan Coast Guard reported.
The 119-ton Horiei Maru fishing boat with 17 Japanese and 5 Indonesians onboard clashed into the Panama-registered 25,047-ton Nikkei Tiger in waters about 900 kilometers east of Miyagi around 2:30 am and might have sunk, the second Regional Coast Guard Headquarters informed.
Nine of the 22 on the Horiei Maru - 5 Japanese and 4 Indonesians - have been rescued by another fishing vessel around 7:00 am, the coast guard informed, adding they are still searching for the missing.
The coast guard obtained a distress call from the Horiei Maru fishing boat, from Mie, western Japan, at around 2:30 am Monday.
The crew members of the cargo ship are all safe.
