Tanker attacked by pirates off Singapore waters

By Piracy

3 days ago 8 pirates, equipped with weapons, launched an attack with the main goal to plunder the ship. The vessel under attack was a chemical tanker Bintang off Tanjung Piai near the Malaysia-Singapore border.
The bandits went on the ship and tied up the people onboard, took whatever they wanted and left the ship in wooden boat.
Malaysian Maritime Enforcement Agency (MMEA) assumes that the pirates are guilty for other assaults and even the same people attacked the tanker Sea Jade and tanker Scorpio on September 13.
These attacks are probably done not to rob the crew members but to steal valuable cargo on the ship.
