A new fire on a Passenger Ferry

By Accidents

Fire broke out early in the morning on the upper deck of a passenger ferry ship, operating in Sabah and the international offshore financial centre of Labuan.
There wasn't reported for any casualties following the 6am blaze, Labuan police chief Supt Adzhar Othman informed.
The fire was believed to have started at the canteen counter zone and swiftly spread to the other part of the upper deck, he reported.
The blaze broke out about an hour before travelers and vehicles were due to board and only few workers were believed to have been on board in making preparations for the 8am voyage to Menumbok in Sabah.
The passenger ferry ship might accommodate up to 550 guests and 80 vehicles while making the 1-hour crossing among the island and the Sabah mainland.
