The 260 meter long, 50622 dwt container ship COSCO Fukuyama collided with the 150 meter long, 19098 dwt tanker Gao Cheng 2 in the Xiashimen Channel on May 06 at 07:47 UTC off Ningbo, China.

The Gao Cheng 2 bow struck the portside of the COSCO Fukuyama. The Gao Cheng 2 sustained bow damage, but was able to proceed to Zhoushan under its own power.
The COSCO Fukuyama had its hull breached resulting in water ingress.
Some containers were also damaged during the collision, but no reports of injuries or pollution released.
The COSCO Fukuyama was able to control the flooding and proceeded to a nearby anchorage. Reports state the boxship will enter a shipyard at Zhoushan for repairs.
