VOS Challenge was delivered to Vroon last week. The vessel left Fujian Southeast Shipyard (FSES) in Fuzhou, China on Thursday 23 June at the start of her journey to Thailand, where she will be delivered to charterers PTTEP.
VOS Challenge, a 65m anchor-handling tug supply (AHTS) vessel, is the first in an exciting new series of six such vessels under construction at the Shipyard for Vroon. She is a KCM 65m vessel, designed by Khiam Chuan Marine. Vroon’s Performance and Engineering Department worked closely together with KCM to enhance vessel capabilities.
VOS Challenge boasts DP2 capabilities, 39 beds for crew and personnel, improved noise and vibration enhancements, 425m2 clear deck area and anchor-handling/towing winches of 1,500m x 64mm. She is SPS2008-compliant, comes with super-silent bow thrusters and an optimised hull design for improved fuel efficiency.
On arrival in Thailand, the vessel will work for PTTEP in the Arthit and Bongkot fields, where she will primarily support drilling activities. Duties will include anchor-handling, towing and supply operations. The vessel will be managed by Vroon Offshore Services Singapore.
