INTERPOL joins fight against pirates

The International Criminal Police Organization (INTERPOL) will participate in the fight against pirates.
INTERPOL signed and agreement with the Information Sharing Center-Regional Cooperation Agreement on Combating Piracy and Armed Robbery Against Ships (ISC-ReCAAP) for cooperation.
Exchanging information and helping each other are the main purpose of this meeting in Asia.
In the future the relations between the 2 organizations will grow stronger and stronger.
The partnership against the common threat is the only way for success.
The Singapore-located ReCAAP is the 1st regional government-to-government agreement to promote and make better the cooperation against the pirate threat and armed robbery in Asia.
Securing main international sea transportation routes like Malacca Strait and South China Sea is crucial. A lot of vessel pass through these areas transporting oil, Chinese products and Indonesian coffee.
