At times things do not happen according to plan, and when you are operating a big vessel in a narrow channel such as the Panama Canal, the vessel crew members need to know exactly what to do in order to avoid accident/disaster.
Fortunately for the owner of the bulk carrier Pacific Bless, a 2012-built, 57k DWT vessel, quick and suitable actions by the vessel’s crew saved the day when their bulk carrier suddenly veered out of the channel and started heading straight toward shore in the Panama Canal.
