Maersk Awarded in 2 Categories to the Global Freight Awards in UK

The Global Freight Prizes took main place in London on Wednesday 21st of November. Attended by worldwide professionals from large multinational corporations and SMEs across the logistics and freight industry, the judges remarked that this year there were an exclusive number of high quality entries.
Maersk Line had been nominated in 2 categories: “Environment” for Route 2, the sustainability report of Maersk Line; and “Innovation – New Product” for Daily Maersk.
However on the night, the team was taken by surprise as Maersk Company was announced as the winner of "Container Line of the Year", a much sought after praise and the result of Lloyd’s Loading List’s readers’ votes.
Maersk Line was also awarded for Route 2, the winner being DB Schenker’s freight terminal for its role helping the Olympic Delivery Authority exceed its environmental aims in London’s 2012 Olympic Games.
Finally, Maersk Shipping Company was stated as proud winner of the Innovation – New Product prize, for Daily Maersk, the industry game changer that has made absolute reliability a reality. The Maersk Company team was totally delighted with the industry recognition that means a great deal when everyone worldwide has worked so hard to make it a success.
David Kennedy Browne, Maersk Company UK & Ireland Sales Director was at the Global Freight Prizes, joining some important UK key customers, and he gathered the prizes on Maersk Company’s behalf.
