Coast Guard member died during Southern California law enforcement operation

A member of U. S. Coast Guard was killed during law enforcement operations in the area near Santa Cruz Island, Calif.
A suspicious vessel was detected by a Coast Guard maritime patrol aircraft. Cutter Halibut was searching a panga-type vessel for illegal activities.
What exactly happened?
The member of the U. S. Coast Guard got closer to see what is the situation with this suspicious panga-type vessel (sailing without any navigational lights). Approached with blue law enforcement light illumination.
The suspected ship was identified as Mexican panga-type and was sailing with high speed towards the Coast Guard boat. Then the clash was inevitable, people on board the Coast Guard boat were thrown from it. One of the members injured heavily his head.
Investigations are taking place.
