Atlantic was awarded an ERRV contract with Repsol Sinopec, previously known as Talisman Sinopec Energy UK before the acquisition by Repsol, in December of 2015.
The deal was a nine-month firm contract which began on January 1, 2016. The contract also had an option to extend for two more years, however, Repsol Sinopec did not extend the contract after the initial nine-month period expired.
The Ocean West was built in 1974 by Volharding Shipyard Waterhuizen and was owned by Atlantic Offshore Scotland.
It has a length of 58.72 meters, breadth of 11.52 meters and can accommodate 27 persons. The vessel is powered by two 1,050 BHP De Industrie’s engines combined with two Caterpillar auxiliary engines with 228 and 94 BHP.
Earlier this year, Atlantic sold the 1975-built Ocean Clever multi-role supply vessel to Denmark, also for recycling.
