The factory of Rolls-Royce has finished the installation of the 1st MT30 gas turbine on the new airplane carrier “HMS Queen Elizabeth”, of the Royal Navy at the Scotland's shipyard Babcock Rosyth.
The MT30 gas turbine with an output of 36 MW is reported to be the most powerful marine gas turbine in the world. And now 2 MT30s turbines are going to be installed on each vessel and are going to secure 2/3 of the 109 MW which is necessary to power the 65,000-tonne vessels.
