New Generagtion Rolls-Royce Command & Control Solution For New PSV

By Curious

The 1st installation of the Unified Bridge of Rolls-Royce is going to feature in the new Platform Supply Ship of Simon Møkster Shipping.
As offshore vessels have become more technologically improved and able to perform more highly-specialised duties, their bridges, as the command centres for the vessel, have become more complicated.
The Rolls-Royce Unified Bridge has been constructed to handle with this issue based on both our own research and feedback from clients. It simplifies the range of controls, panels and displays for the distinct onboard systems, secures considerably improved ergonomics and easier operation that improves operator and crew safety and enhances task efficiency. The Unified Bridge layout may also be tailored to meet the needs of a number of distinct ships.
The 1st merchant installation of the Rolls-Royce Unified Bridge solution is going to be on a UT 776 WP platform supply ship, currently being constructed in Spain by the yard Astilleros Gondan, for Norwegian ship-owner Simon Møkster Shipping. The ship design with the striking wave piercing bow, main systems and equipment are all secured by Rolls-Royce.
On completion in 2014 the ship is going to be chartered by Statoil for operations in the North Sea and the High North.
