Norway-based floating LNG giant Höegh LNG took delivery of its seventh floating storage and regasification unit (FSRU) from Hyundai Heavy Industries.
The 170,032-cbm FSRU named Höegh Giant has a regasification capacity of 750 MMscf/day.
Höegh LNG said previously that the vessel would serve the Tema LNG import terminal located close to Accra in Ghana under a deal with Quantum Power Ghana Gas.
The contract is for a period of 20 years with a five-year extension option for Quantum Power.
Infrastructure construction for the LNG import project is expected to start in mid-2017 and the expected delivery time for the FSRU is 6 to 12 months following the start of the building work, according to Höegh LNG.
The Oslo-based company has currently six FSRUs in operation and three more under construction following the delivery of Höegh Giant.
