Maersk Line's Asia-Europe dry, reefer rates go up

By Finance

Aisa-north Europe rates for reefer and dry cargo go up by US $500 per TEU from the 15th of April, 2013, announced Maersk Line.
"The current freight rates that prevail from Asia to the Mediterranean and North Europe are making it financially unviable and unsustainable to offer our current range of provided services and permanent high-schedule reliability," was stated in a notice to trade by Maersk.
The company of Maersk Line and its 9 biggest rivals have already pushed through rate hikes of US $424 in March to US $1,423 per TEU, according to rate index SCFI.
