The shipyard held a naming and christening ceremony earlier this month for three vessels, Georgiy Brusilov, Boris Davydov and Nikolay Zubov, that are all capable of transporting 172,000 cubic meters.

The vessels are the 8th, 9th and 10th of Yamal LNGC series that is comprised of 15 LNG carriers in total, Russian Maritime Register of Shipping (RS) said in its statement.

The vessels owned by the Greek company Dynagas were constructed under the supervision of RS together with BV.

Novatek expects to launch the third Yamal LNG train by year-end. The third train will have the same capacity of 5.5 million tonnes per year as the first two Yamal units.

Besides Novatek, Yamal LNG’s shareholders include France’s Total, China’s CNPC and Silk Road Fund.
