The Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu has announced that 17 warships and cutters, as well as 52 support vessels are to join the Russian Navy by this year's end.
“By the end of 2015, there should be 17 warships and cutters, as well as 52 support vessels entering the Navy,” he said on Monday during a meeting.
Initially, the plans until the end of the year, announced in March, included 50 vessels of various sizes and classes, 10 of which – warships.
The latest state-of-the-art reconnaissance ship of the Russian Navy, Yuri Ivanov, was delivered during the celebration of the Navy Day in the city of Kaliningrad.
