Bladt Industries A/S, the substation fabricator, contracted Scaldis to transport and install the Nordsee One substation.
The substation consists of a jacket, four piles and a topside. The jacket and piles were installed in May 2016 during the first phase of the project.
The Rambiz lifted the jacket, weighing 1476 tonnes, and placed it in position. Then, the four piles, each measuring 67.49 m and weighing 241 tonnes, were lifted, upended and installed in the jacket sleeves. The piles were then grouted to the jacket.
The Rambiz will complete the second phase of the project in July 2016 by pile top cutting and installing the topside.
