This past Saturday, March 7th, Croatian shipbuilding company Uljanik held the launching ceremony for the Isaac Newton, Jan De Nul Group’s brand new multipurpose vessel.

The cutting-edge technology ship is able to be deployed on various projects ranging from subsea cables installation to trench dredging and subsea rock installation.

When in cable-installation mode, the ship has the capacity of transporting and laying cable in a single length with a total weight of roughly 10,000 tonnes, which surpasses by a great margin the capacity of any other currently available vessel.

The Isaac Newton is scheduled to sail out for her maiden voyage at some point during August of this year.
