An interesting video reveals the development of the Liverpool2. The CGI animation was posted by Peel Ports.
Currently under construction, the development has been scheduled for oppening later in 2015. A new power network for the Liverpool2 container terminal involved installation works of a brand new Litherland substation featuring requisite electrical equipment, and power transformers. Additionally a 132,000 volt grid connection with lenght of eight km was created at Aintree, as reported by Liverpool Echo.
Thus the port's power capacity has been increased to 50 MVA which is more than twice from previous 20 MVA.
