APL yesterday announced the launch of a new Intra-Asia shortsea service - the Japan-Taiwan-Thailand Express (JTX) service.

Covering six key ports in Japan, the JTX service offers industry-leading transit times from Taiwan to Thailand and Japan. Shipments on board the JTX service can expect fast transit from Kaohsiung to Laem Chabang in six days; and from Keelung to Tokyo in four days.

Additionally, APL customers will also gain access to global connectivity, via APL’s extensive service network at the transhipment hubs of Hong Kong and Kaohsiung.

Commencing its first sailing from Tokyo on 27 February, the JTX service will call the ports of Tokyo, Yokohama, Shimizu, Nagoya, Osaka, Kobe, Keelung, Taichung, Kaohsiung, Hong Kong, Laem Chabang and Bangkok.
