As from February, DFDS Seaways expands considerably the triangular service between Norway, Zeebrugge and Immingham. On the one hand the ms Lysbris Seaways, a sideport/container vessel, will be replaced by the larger ms Finlandia Seaways. On the other hand the port of Brevik will be added to the sailing schedule, in addition to Frederikstad and Halden.
The larger roro vessel ms Finlandia Seaways will not only load paper and container loads (Norske Skog), but also roro cargoes such as trailers, self-drivers, machinery and project cargo.
By adding Brevik to the sailing schedule, both the west and east coast of Oslofjord can be served. The service will load on Friday and Saturday in Zeebrugge and Immingham respectively. Unloading is scheduled on Sunday in Brevik. After having called at Frederikstad (Monday) and Halden (Tuesday), a second export call is scheduled on Tuesday in Brevik before setting sail to Zeebrugge again.
With these adjustments, DFDS aims at offering the market a unique solution for shipping all kinds of cargoes between Norway, the UK and the continent.
This extra capacity on the UK and Norway, strengthens Zeebrugge’s position as growing hub for Scandinavia.
