The latest Maersk Triple-E containership, Marchen Maersk, has been given name in an official ceremony at the Port of Felixstowe.

The vessel made it maiden call at the Port of Britain yesterday around 8 a.m. local time.

Clemence Cheng, Port of Felixstowe CEO and HPH Europe division Managing Director, commented the event:

“Maersk Line has a long-term relationship with the Port of Felixstowe and we are honoured that the naming ceremony was held here. The Marchen Maersk is the 17th maiden call we have had by one of Maersk’s Triple-E vessels this year.”

So far this year, Port of Felixstowe has welcomed 46 ships with capacity over 18,000 TEUs.
