The 4,400-TEU SCI Chennai has been arrested in Singapore.

The legal action of the Supreme Court of Singapore on Tuesday followed an action by local law firm Oon & Bazul. The reasons behind the arrest has not yet been revealed.

The containership is part of the Shipping Corporation of India (SCI)'s fleet. The market value of the vessel has been estimated to be $21.25 million, according to VesselsValue.

So far this year, twelve vessels have been arrested in Singapore, two by Oon & Bazul.

Currently the fully laden SCI Chennai is at anchor.
