Sentinel Marine has revealed computer-generated images of three new emergency response and rescue vessels that are currently under construction.
The trio of vessels - Cromarty Sentinel, Trafalgar Sentinel and Viking Sentinel – are due to join the firm’s fleet by the end of 2020.
The three ERRVs are being constructed at a shipyard in China and are an enhanced version of the vessels that Sentinel Marine has introduced to the North Sea in recent years.
Like all other ships in the fleet, the new builds will perform roles in addition to the primary function of protecting the offshore workforce, include supply of cargo, oil recovery, rescue towing and firefighting.
However, Cromarty Sentinel, Trafalgar Sentinel and Viking Sentinel will have increased dynamic positioning capabilities with a DP2 classification, firefighting class 1, and liquid mud and dry bulk capacities.
Sentinel Marine CEO Rory Deans said: “These latest vessels, when delivered, will bring the total number of ships in our fleet to 14.

“We look forward to seeing the three new additions take shape in the months ahead and eventually welcoming them to Aberdeen where they will take up operations in the North Sea.”
