The ex-USS Ogden (LPD 5) was fired upon by a harpoon missile from the Republic of Korea (ROKS) submarine Lee Sun Sin (SS 068) and then by a Naval Strike Missile (NSM) from the Royal Norwegian Navy frigate HNoMS Fridtjof Nansen (F310) during a SINKEX as a part of the RIM of the Pacific (RIMPAC) Exercise 2014.
Twenty-two nations, more than 40 ships and submarines, more than 200 aircraft and 25,000 personnel participated in the Pacific RIMPAC exercise. It took place from June 26 until August 1, 2014 in and around the Hawaiian Islands.
