The 56 meter long ro-ro passenger ferry Shoyo Maru allided with the moored 235 meter long, 91,569 dwt bulk carrier Dyna Camellia at around 0900 Tokyo time on Monday (Aug 1) near the port of Kure, Hiroshima, Japan.

The ferry was headed to Matsuyama with 62 passengers when it had suffered a power blackout and lost control before striking the Dyna Camellia moored at a nearby quay. Three passengers were slightly injured, but no damage reported. Reports state the Shoyo Maru cancelled its voyage and returned to Kure.
