The category 4 cyclone battered a large portion of the Queensland coast including offshore resort Island close to the Great Barrier Reef with max wind gusts recorded at 263km/h.

The cyclone caused major damage with roofs lost, properties destroyed, trees felled, boats wrecked, heavy rain with flooding and cuts to road and rail links.

ANL will carry around 160 TEU of much-needed supplies to Townsville while road and rail links are being repaired.

“ANL is very pleased to assist the people of North Queensland after this devastating cyclone” said John Lines, ANL Managing Director.

From April 2017, ANL has added a Townsville call into its regular APX schedule.
