At the signing ceremony, Beihai Shipbuilding and CMA CGM inks the contract for methanol dual-fuel retrofit project for container vessel on 30th January, marking a new milestone in the cooperation between the two parties and demonstrating a strong commitment to the future of green maritime initiatives. 

CMA CGM contracts China shipyard for its 1st methanol dual-fuel retrofit project

Reportly, this project is not only Beihai Shipbuilding's first new energy retrofit project, but also GMA CGM's first methanol dual-fuel retrofit project for container ship.

Hongshan Yao, Deputy General Manager of Beihai Shipbuilding, said that this cooperation is a historic leap for Beihai Shipbuilding in terms of technological innovation and sustainable development strategy, and significantly enhances company's competitiveness in the ship retrofit market. Mr. Yao fully expects further cooperation in the future.

Mr. Giancarlo BROSOLO, Director Fleet Upgrade of CMA CGM, made a positive comment on the achievements in safety, quality and production management made by both parties since the cooperation, and expressed his confidence in the further cooperation in the future.
