Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering Co. (DSME), a leading South Korean shipbuilder, said Thursday it has clinched a deal worth about US$370 million to build two liquefied natural gas (LNG) carriers for an unidentified shipping company.
The shipbuilder said it is set to deliver two carriers that can each hold 173,400 cubic meters of LNG to a shipping company in the Oceania region by the first half of 2021.
Daewoo Shipbuilding declined to identify its customer.
The shipbuilder said it has received about $1.55 billion worth of ship orders so far this year for 12 vessels.
