Royal Boskalis Westminster N.V. (Boskalis) has acquired the contract for the supply and installation of the export and inter-array cables for the Triton Knoll offshore wind farm (OWF), UK.
In September 2017, Boskalis signed the Preferred Supplier Agreement which has now been converted into a firm contract following the project's financial close. The contract carries a value for Boskalis of approximately EUR 90 million.
The project scope includes two 50-kilometer-long export cables and ninety-seven 66kV inter-array cables which will be installed with two own cable laying vessels. The project will be executed by Boskalis Subsea Cables & Flexibles in consortium with NKT and is scheduled to be carried out in 2020.
Triton Knoll OWF is being developed by Innogy Renewables UK Ltd (59%) and partners J-Power (25%) and Kansai Electric Power (16%) and is located 32 kilometers off the coast of Lincolnshire and 50 kilometers off the coast of north Norfolk. Triton Knoll OWF will be one of the most cost effective wind energy projects in UK waters with 90 turbines providing sustainable renewable energy to over 800,000 homes in the UK.
