Japanese shipping giant MOL recently posted a video of the world’s largest floating storage and regasification unit (FSRU) in operation in the Turkish port of Dörtyol, Hatay.
The MOL FSRU Challenger started operating in Turkey as the country’s second FSRU terminal in February last year.
The floating storage and regasification unit has an LNG storage capacity of 263,000 cubic meters and has re-shipment and gas transfer capabilities. The unit has a regas discharge capacity of 540 million cubic meters per day.
State gas grid operator Botas chartered the vessel from MOL to be used as an import terminal for the project called Botas-Dörtyol FSRU terminal.
