European Gateway Services (EGS), Barge Terminal Born and Danser Group have joining forces and are offering a reliable transport corridor between Rotterdam and Limburg by means of the Limburg Express. In Rotterdam, the Limburg Express calls at the Hutchison Ports ECT Delta terminal and in Limburg at the inland barge terminals in Venlo and Born.
The Limburg Express fits in with the trend whereby parties consolidate cargo to call at deepsea terminals in Rotterdam with larger volumes of containers.
The vessel MS Isabelle, which has a capacity of 249 TEU, provides the connection. In Rotterdam, fixed windows are used at the ECT Delta terminal on Wednesdays and Saturdays. The Limburg Express next calls at Venlo and Born on both Thursdays/Fridays and on Mondays and offers guaranteed arrival and departure times. The Limburg Express is an addition to the existing train and barge connections of the partners involved. The partners strive to further expand the cooperation.
