BOA announced on Monday (Oct28) that it has been awarded a contract by EIFFAGE GC MARINE for transportation and float-off of 21 concrete caissons (around 16 000t each) as the main elements of the breakwater (1 150m) for the near-shore LNG Hub Marine Terminal for BP’s Greater Tortue Ahmeyim Field Development at the border between Senegal and Mauritania.
BOA’ scope of work requires:
- Major modifications to the semi-submersible barge BOA Barge 33 in order to submerse to record-breaking depth of 21 meters above deck,
- Design, fabrication and installation of guide posts, grillage and skidding beams,
- Provision of 2 highly maneuverable tugs throughout the project, namely ASD tugs BOA Brage and BOA Heimdal,
- Extensive Engineering and Operational services during both planning and execution.
The operational team at site during the contract period will consist of 16-18 persons from BOA.
Contract commencement is July 2019 with an operational phase in Dakar from March 2020 for minimum duration of 6 months
