South Korean shipbuilder Samsung Heavy Industries held a keel-laying ceremony for one of two 174,000 cbm LNG carriers ordered by LNG carrier owner and operator GasLog in August 2018.
The keel-laying ceremony took place half a year after the ship started construction in May this year.
The newbuild, with hull number 2300, is part of a broader fleet expansion program undertaken by the Greece-based GasLog.
The company ordered a total of 7 units from Samsung Heavy Industries in 2018. The most recent delivery was the 180,000 cbm GasLog Warsaw, which was delivered in August this year. The remaining seven units on order are scheduled for delivery by 2021.
Once delivered, newbuild 2300 will be chartered by a wholly-owned subsidiary of Cheniere Energy for a firm period of seven years.
