China’s Hudong-Zhonghua Shipbuilding has delivered LNG Dubhe, the first of four conventional LNG carriers for the Yamal LNG project.
According to a company official, the vessel, jointly ordered by Mitsui O.S.K. Lines (MOL) and China COSCO Shipping Corporation was delivered on November 6.
In an earlier statement, MOL said that LNG Dubhe will be engaged in the transport of the project’s LNG from transshipment terminals in Europe or a location where ship-to-ship transfer operations are carried out.
The newly built tanker is capable of transporting 174,000 cubic meters of liquefied natural gas. The naming ceremony for the vessel was held at the end of September.
