South Korean shipbuilder Hyundai Mipo Dockyard, part of the Hyundai Heavy Industries, has booked an order for a liquefied natural gas bunkering vessel.
The company noted in its notice to the stock exchange that the vessel was ordered by an Asian partner.
The order is valued at 71.5 billion South Korean Won ($61.3 million), with the delivery set for January 2022.
The company added that the vessel will have a capacity of 18,000 cubic meters of LNG with the buyer having an option for an additional vessel.
The LNG bunkering vessel has a length of 166 meters, and a width of 24.4 meters.
Hyundai Mipo noted that the vessel will feature a dual-fuel engine using boil-off gas as its main fuel. The shipyard said that the vessel is equipped with a hull cooler that minimizes the vaporization of LNG.
The shipyard has already built and delivered the 7,500-cbm Kairos to Bernhard Schulte in October last year.
