With the start of burning, MEYER WERFT began construction of the new Arvia cruise ship (CruiseMapper) for the British shipping company P&O Cruises. The shipping company announced the name a few days ago. The sister ship of the Iona is optimally tailored to the preferences of British passengers.

MEYER WERFT starts building the Arvia for P&O Cruises

The representatives of the shipping company accompanied this milestone via video from Great Britain. With the Arvia, they will receive the fourth cruise ship in their fleet from MEYER WERFT in 2022.

“MEYER WERFT and P&O Cruises have a longstanding partnership. We look forward to starting the construction of the Arvia and continuing this partnership ”, says Stephan Schmees, member of the project management team.

The ship with a size of around 180,000 GT is operated entirely on the low-emission fuel LNG. Like her sister ship, which was delivered in 2020, the Arvia will be equipped with the 970 square meter SkyDome glass dome.
