State-of-the-art simulation technology using powerful computer software has for many years been part of the service offered by ICE to solve challenging problems related to ship design.

ICE Providing World-class Simulation Service

So far this year, ICE has performed a simulation analysis contract for a Qatari client to model, numerically simulate and analyse the dispersion of the hazardous gas on a floating storage and offloading (“FSO”) vessel, to ensure safe operation during tank venting and purging. Another ongoing project is simulation of insulation efficiency for an Asian customer in connection with an LNG tanker project.

Earlier, ICE simulated gas dispersion as part of a fast-track project for conversion of a shuttle tanker into an FSO vessel (pictured) for Teekay Shipping Norway AS (now Altera Infrastructure). That project also included naval architecture, structural analyses, piping design, electrical design, procurement assistance and various safety studies.
